Overview
Glass Catfish are a unique and incredibly interesting fish. Their bodies lack most pigment and are almost completely clear, putting their bones and internal organs on display. They have two barbels extending from their nose and large eyes.
They are an extremely peaceful schooling fish that can be housed with a variety of tankmates. They need groups of at least six members of their own species to truly thrive in the aquarium. The tank should have low light and they should be provided with plenty of hiding places. Live plants also offer optimal conditions.
They should be fed a diet consisting of live, freeze dried and frozen bloodworms, tubifex and other high protein foods, as well as pellet and flake foods.
