Overview
The White-tailed Damselfish has many more common names: the Humbug Damselfish, Three-striped Damselfish and Whitetail Dascyllus. All of them directly reference their pitch black bodies with thick white vertical stripes, making them look almost like underwater zebra's.
It will do fine in a reef tank or a community fish tank, but it can be very aggressive and territorial so it should be added after the other fish in the tank and should only be housed with fish that are similar in size and temperament that can hold their own against it. It should have a hiding place and it's own territory within the tank. It is a forgiving, hardy fish and perfect for beginners.
