Overview
The Scribbled Rabbitfish gets its name from its scribbled looking, intricate line markings that cover its entire body. Its coloration can vary from individual to individual but generally they are mostly white or a pastel shade of green with bluish markings. There is a black bar underneath each eye that runs down to the bottom of the face.
A peaceful fish, it will do well with most tankmates, even more aggressive fish since its venomous* dorsal spines will quickly let the other fish know to leave it alone. It cannot be housed with other rabbitfish, however, unless they are a mated pair. It is generally reef safe if well fed. If not, it may eat some corals. It should be fed marine algae, seaweed and vegetable matter.
* = While their venomous spines are only used in self defense, they can cause extremely painful stings so caution should be exercised. Never pick them up by hand and be aware of them while cleaning the tank so that you do not accidentally bump into their spines. If you are stung, a visit to the doctor is recommended.
