Overview
Like most cichlids, Black Nasty Cichlids, are sexually dimorphic. They will thrive best with plenty of swimming space, a gravel substrate and rocks to hide in. They are not recommended for many community aquariums as they can be extremely aggressive, but can be usually be housed with other species with similar temperaments and same size or larger.
Cichlids are not picky eaters. They will accept most pellet, flake, frozen and live foods and should be fed a varied diet including both meaty and herbivorous preparations given their omnivorous nature.
