Overview
The Coral Beauty Angelfish gets its name from its intricate, beautiful coloration. The body and fins are royal blue with brighter blue highlighting on the tips of the fins and portions of the face. Bright orange, close together jagged line markings cover the body, excluding the fins, like paint that has been splotched on with a sponge.
It requires plenty of hiding places and live rock to graze on in between meals. While it will offer some algae control, within a reef setting it is also prone to nipping at invertebrates and must be closely observed if it is added to a reef tank. It should be fed marine algae, spirulina, frozen or live shrimp, and other meaty preparations. While it is peaceful towards most tankmates, it will be territorial towards other angelfish and should be the only one in the tank. It can also be mildly aggressive towards fish that are the same size or smaller than it.
