Overview
Linear blennies are named for their coloration: a white lower half and an upper half that ranges from tan to black. They are a smaller species of blenny, and are a great addition to any peaceful reef tank. They need a habitat with live rock that will offer them hiding places and an area to perch and graze. Aggressive species will intimidate them into hiding, so they should only be kept with fish with mild dispositions. Like other blennies, they should be the only one of their kind in the tank unless they are a mated pair.
It will feed on and control algae in the tank, but should also be fed vegetable matter and can be given frozen and dried foods that contain blue-green algae.
