Overview
Cobalt Zebra Cichlids acquired their name from the stunning cobalt blue color that males acquire when they are ready to breed. Normally, they are a much more pale blue color with egg shaped yellow spots on the anal fin.
They are a good choice for most cichlid community tanks and will appreciate plenty of hiding places and a sandy substrate, and lots of areas for them to establish their own territories. They can easily be bred in captivity and one male should be kept with three females for the best results.
They should be fed high quality herbivorous preparations.
